How we work

Secure payments

Milestone and subscription payments are made by card through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

In short

  • 01Each payment appears in your client area only once the matching delivery is ready.
  • 02You pay by card on Stripe’s form: card details never pass through our servers.
  • 03Your bank may ask for an extra confirmation (3D Secure), as with any online purchase.
  • 04You receive an email receipt after each payment and all of them stay in your area.

What is paid and when

There are two kinds of payment at Webmake. The first is building the site, a fixed one-off price split into three milestones. The second, optional, is maintenance: a monthly or annual fee you can cancel whenever you like.

Published prices are shown plus VAT, and the written quote details the total before we start. There are no surprise payments: what you see in the quote is what you pay.

How you pay

When a delivery is ready, the matching payment appears as pending in your client area. Pressing "Pay" opens Stripe’s secure form; once done, the milestone is marked as paid and you receive the receipt by email.

There is no need to make a transfer, send proof of payment or wait for someone to confirm the money arrived. The payment status updates by itself and the project keeps moving.

03

Why it is safe

Stripe is the payments platform used by millions of businesses. Card details are entered directly into Stripe, never pass through our servers, and your bank’s strong authentication (3D Secure) applies when required.

Stripe is certified as a PCI DSS Level 1 service provider, the most demanding level of the card industry’s security standard. Because we never store or process card data, we stay out of that risk by design: what we never had cannot leak.

04

Receipts and history

After each payment you receive a receipt by email. The payments section of the client area also keeps the full history: which milestone was paid, when and for what amount.

If you need your company billing details on the documents, give them to us when the project starts so they appear correctly from the first payment.

05

Paying the maintenance subscription

If you take a maintenance plan, billing is recurring on the same card, monthly or annually as you choose. Annual billing is cheaper: roughly two months free compared to monthly.

The subscription is managed from the client area, and you can cancel whenever you like with no lock-in. When you build a new site, the first month of any paid plan is free.

How to spot a fraud attempt

Webmake payments always start from your client area. If you get an email or message asking you to pay through a different link, change bank details or send your card details, be wary.

Warning signs

  • You are asked for card details by email, message or phone.
  • The payment link does not come from your client area.
  • You are asked to transfer to a new account "because of a bank change".
  • There is extreme urgency or threats to cut the service within minutes.

Common questions

No. You pay in three milestones (40/30/30), each only once the previous delivery is done.
